Snowy Escape is an EP? But Outdoor Retreat & Jungle Adventures is a GP?

The previous two holiday destinations are GP so I'm assuming that Snowy Escape is gonna be another liveable world just like Island living.

I'm honesty so confused why the sims team selects some worlds as a liveable place instead of a holiday vacation. And I'm very confused why this new EP they developed "for a year" happens to be recycled animations & objects from spa day, fitness stuff, jungle adventures. NEVER MIND SEASONS

Like what the hell EA?

  • They said the world is a residential world WITH rentals, so you can still take your sims on vacation there.

Shame they didn't do that for island living.
  • I kind of had the same thought as the title of this thread. It does look like they did Mt K (can't spell that yet) culture with more depth than the Selvadoradan culture, and the mountain climbing + other snow sports is probably a bigger combination than the jungle and temple adventure stuff, but it does kind of feel like a bigger version of something like JA than a game changing expansion pack.
Right now I'm leaning towards feeling like it's an expansion instead of a game pack because it takes up more resources to do all those animations, rather than because of the depth of gameplay it adds.
But it's only had one trailer. So much of the content of EL was not made clear until the livestream that I'm going to wait to make a final judgement on this one.

Outdoor Retreat is a joke what 5 lots a couple extremely basic objects like tents a campfire its other "big" object horseshoes and a Sim walking around in a bear outfit truly no comparison.

Now they have reused some of the rock wall animations but it also does have a new part where the Sims pulls himself over the mountain when he reaches the top which makes it new game play when has a Sim ever mountain climbed beyond being locked to a object I think its great when they reuse something and make it better. I have been requesting this for years now my outdoor Sims are getting some real hobbies.

Now the skiing snow boarding that includes elder-child and sledding that includes all life stages are all new and require a lot of animations not to mention in-ground hot spring vending machines and a bunch of other new objects I'd say they did decent reusing actually improving what made sense and offering much more our Sims are snow boarding on the slopes not some boring object a win for me.

  • yeah honestly at this point i don't know how OR is even gp since they put the tents again in snowy and honestly its starting to feel like stuff packs have more content (:

also despite snowy being ep i still fear lack of content because they really didn't show much japanese activities aside from eating at that new fancy table and bowing

other than that it looks like new furniture style for things we already have

and i truly hope there is more to it

also i really think ja and or worlds would work better as residential worlds for me as well like idk i just wish theyd give the option for all vacation worlds

I think we still don't know if hybrid worlds are a new general feature that will be patched in.

Seeing that rental lots in the new residential world also means that we are getting those in a patch most likely. It can meen that we can finally remove those premades and put on rental vacation lots on Sulani or even other worlds.

because they had to figure out how to make vacation homes work in a liveable world, I assume.
if you choose "go on vacation" the game automatically sends you to the destination worlds screen and sorta detects that you are on vacation (having the time off work without the sim having to take vacation days manually).
These are functions that have to be changed for a hybrid vacation-livable world to work, it is not as simple as putting a new lot into a different world.

It makes total sense to me that vacation only worlds are GPs, cause they tend to come with smaller worlds, EPs generally come with bigger worlds (or none), having a big vacation only world would be a waste of space cause residential lots can't be placed there.

As for the recycling, the only thing I've seen a true recycling of is the mountain climbing animation, but I still think it is different enough from the fitness stuff wall, cause you can do it outside on real mountains and actually climb up the top.
Recycled animations are pretty common, they save resources on those to have more for new animations (like for snowboarding, skiing, sledding in this case), though in general I agree that it happens way too much in this game (especially for interactions imho), but that's another matter.
