In 2017, winter vacation was put forward as a possible expansion option. Some of the features suggested in that pack read as follows (taken from the survey):

Winter’s cold has arrived and it’s time to take your Sims for a wintery vacation in The Sims 4 Winter Vacation. Choose your favourite winter accommodations then venture outside to build a snowman and have a snowball fight. Go snowboarding and compete for medals or take a leisurely stroll through the mountains to see what you can uncover.

Choose your lodging: Settle into your winter escape my choose to rent a snowy winter cabin, a family-friendly vacation home or live it up in a hotel complete with room service.

Play in the snow: Take your Sims out to enjoy the snow. Build a snowman and make snow angles or challenge your friends to a snowball fight.

Go snowboarding: Take to the half-pipe and show off your snowboarding skills. Sign up for the snowboarding competitions to go for gold and earn prizes.

Explore the mountain: Strap on your snowshoes for a relaxing stroll through the snow-covered mountains. Follow animal tracks, discover caves and maybe come across the rumoured snow yeti

Some of these features were already added through Seasons, so any winter-vacation type pack would have to offer something quite different. This is especially true so that players who bought Seasons do not feel ripped off."

I just hope the yeti isn't like the OR bear and may be a life form... or werewolves...? Nice people, do you think that werewolves make any sense here? I want them so much!!

i hope there will be hotels in the game. but they may just use the old rental like lots from or and ja instead. but hotels would be so much better and would give sims new experiences then just renting a house for a few days.

somebody please tell me I wasn't seeing things when i saw downhill skiing, tobogganing and snowboarding on an actual ski slope as i am not sure i can trust my eyes at this point-) plus cable cars i do hope they are functional and then S2 type outdoor spas which I still adore to this day from the S2 series I also wonder if create your sanctuary means it's a residential and a vacation a world as well?

Lastly I thought that train looked like it might actually atop at the station..

My last question does anyone actually know if we have hotels back at this point?

yes skiing was real. i saw it too. i cant wait.

as for hotels i dont think it really made a clear picture if they are coming. i think most people think they arent. but im still unsure. still i didnt really have much hope hotels would be a thing.

i want this pack too. the world looks great. the snow activities look fun.

I don't think there will be hotels in this pack. If you read the 'Key Features' here, there's no mention of them:

I can hardly believe I am getting something I have wanted so much for such a long time in the game and while I feel sorry if this is a pack other players may not want I personally have not been this excited since sims 3 seasons lol :)

It really will be a shame if there are no hotels because I would love that feature too but frankly right now all i can think about is those snowy slopes as they bring back so many memories :)

Thank you for the link. I am little sad about hotels but from what is described this is a home world then and not just a vacation world? Maybe they will allow us to buy vacation homes instead?

I couldn't go to Asia this year in real life but thanks to EA I get to go virtually via my favourite game! Thanks EA!!

This pack looks awesome and I'm definitely getting it on release day. It's a no brainer. I'm not even that mad about the apparent lack of hotels although I still really, really want them! I guess we have Onsens instead which are a traditional Japanese inn so there's that...
