- ADashofAsh905 years agoSeasoned AceI realized I forgot to state mine; for me, I've really enjoyed the Game Packs in terms of gameplay and items. Expansion Packs I do still quite enjoy, though there aren't as many I'm all-around satisfied with (meaning something is missing or not fully done right). Stuff Packs have been making a bit of a come back; I felt Laundry Day, Tiny Living and Nifty Knitting were higher quality than the others. I'm hoping this new stuff pack being teased today will follow suit!
- VWoodsong5 years agoSeasoned AceI only rarely buy Stuff packs, because yeah, I'm super picky about those. They rarely ever have enough in them to interest me enough to pay for what little I might like in them. For example, I have absolutely zero personal interest in knitting or other similar handicrafts, so I didn't rush out to purchase Nifty Knitting. But who knows, I may one day pick it up during a sale if I ever decide there's anything about the pack (besides the metal station) that I do want. Game packs sometimes get a little more of my interest, but not often enough to buy very many of them because... you know, picky. I don't buy every single Expansion pack, either, but I do have many of them (some only because they were on sale). Again, picky.
Edited: For clarity - ck2135 years agoLegendIt's really a mix of EPs and GPs that I have enjoyed; a few in this group, a few in that group.
But conceptually I prefer Game Packs with their narrow focus, strong theme, and deeper game play, when they live up to it. - Close one for me, but giving it to EPs because of the recent worlds. Sulani and Komorembi are both awesome.
- alanmichael15 years agoSeasoned AceMost Stuff Packs have a high quality and add a very unique atmosphere to the game. I could never play without kids room stuff or backyard stuff. Looks like Conor is a brilliant successor of Graham.
- netney525 years agoSeasoned AceReally depending on the packs and what is in them. For gameplay it has been seasons, university, city living, island living, spa day, jungle adventure, outdoor retreat, the world of strangerville, partenthood, backyard stuff, tiny living, laundry day. For build mode my most used packs are seasons, island living, get together, city living, spa day, vampires, nifty knitting, tiny living, vintage glamour, moschino, cool kitchen. CAS for me is varied on different packs.
- Daephene15 years agoSeasoned AceI like the game packs because they go deeper into their theme than the others. Expansion packs have more, but a lot of it is more shallow because there are so many things. Stuff packs since Moschino have been getting pretty fleshed out and much more worth their selling price, but they will never add as much to the game as the other types.
- sallycutecat5 years agoNew AceFor me it's the expansion packs. I really like the theme and the content they add. My favourite ones are Island Living and Snowy Escape. I use the features from these packs all the time.
I only buy a pack if it really interests me. So far I have 5 expansion packs and I enjoy them all.
For game packs: The themes of them haven't really interested me. There's only 1 that has and that's the only game pack I have.
Stuff packs I only buy at half price. I never got Stuff packs for Sims 2 or 3 and only recently got some for 4. I like that they have a small element of gameplay. With previous Sims games they were just adding stuff and I didn't think it was worth spending money on. - sjofn775 years agoSeasoned VeteranI love my favorite EP more than my favorite GP, but GPs are way more consistent for me as far as feeling worth their price.
- ChadSims25 years agoSeasoned RookieIt all depends on replayability Get Together Seasons and Parenting are great packs while Get to Work Strangerville and Island Living are horrible so its not expansion or game pack for me but what pack gives me tools to change my worlds and Sims and how I play in all of them not just the world the pack comes with.
