I agree with you OP, rabbits would seen to suit TS4 more than a useless horse.
1) "There aren't even any cars" --Present simple tense! Are doesn't mean there won't be + The Sims 2 was closed world and had cars.
2. 2x2 is a problem? Then why not introduced a new world with bigger lots, or better yet: an in-game world edittor.
