So Where Did the New French Game Pack Rumors Come From?

I have read some forum posts, even some articles of dubious quality mentioning the rumors spreading around the forums as evidence, and have seen plenty of the speculation here and there. Unfortunately, I cannot trace it back to a source, getting bogged down in all the discussions of what people would want from such a game pack.

So... Why exactly are so many people assuming this one? I haven't heard of a leak or anything else, but this one has seemed to spread like wildfire.

This is funny, blame the ones who took the bait, and not the one who did the baiting. I think I might feel differently about it.

No different than the person who faked leaked the Country Living pack....

He just shouldnt have ever fake leaked something, (I didnt know about the leak until it was debunked) I hope he learns from this mistake because it damaged his reputation and probably the one of that account he tried to expose too.

Damaged his reputation how? People still love his work and look forward to new projects...

As in the boy who cried wolf. Should he ever claim to have a leak or information again, people will think twice before believing. The lesson you stated they should learn.

Worse yet, he may have burned some bridges with fan/news sites. The Sims has several community pundits and sometimes they have modders' spotlights. Them silently choosing not to be associated or risk drama is something we would never see at a lower level.

Like others mentioned, he certainly is not ruined, but it was not a smart move to make.

(Also, let's be real here, it is 2020. There are bound to be a few people on this vast Internet of ours that got upset enough to boycott his work. No one would say everyone, but in the era we live there needs to be no true movement for a few people to do it on their own.)
