Not exactly @luthienrising. People playing TS4 are actually moding out the mechanics of the game. Stopping culling a mechanic of the game, stopping relationship culling a new mechanic of the game for performance sake. Modding out basic buffs that keeps Sims happy way too much while the rest of us look at the game and are miserable and if you or others didn't do this you would be having as much fun with the actual game played the way it was built. TS3 players modded 'in' features not out. The mods for that game fix bugs not change mechanics, and or enhance gameplay already there, not change it. Moding out isn't the same as moding in. ETA: Basically a game can't be the best game ever if you change it's core with mods. That isn't the game that was sold.
But I've always modded things out, even in previous iterations, like removing the annoying autonomous interactions in TS2 for example.

Learning all the time :D Can't imagine they used dye for that though? There are also green asperaguses. But my ignorance in the asperagus department must not supplant what my point was: having an opinion about the looks of something without knowing the content cannot be considered equal to having an opinion when you actually know what it tastes like. In fact, isn't that exactly what Sims 4 fans are telling people who like to see things changed in the game all the time? (there's your comparison @luthienrising ;))
Awesome :)
No, the purple isn't dyed. It's a different asparagus variety. (White asparagus, on the other hand, is green asparagus that was buried so it didn't get sun. I've never eaten it since I learned that.)
I don't think there is a thing that Sims 4 fans tell people who like to see things changed, except maybe "please don't also nerf what we like in the game as a cost of that change". And for sure, there's a lot of Sims 4 fans who will tell people considering the game to cut it open and taste it before they buy, not to only go by the labels (what other people say) and outside appearance. ;)
So it's a case of you can have what you want just as long as it doesn't change what I want?
I have always thought we were all against nerfing existing features in something we've bought and enjoy. I don't want feature X nerfed in Sims 4 any more than you would have wanted feature Y nerfed in Sims 2 or 3 or whichever game you've enjoyed. Added features? Go for it! Taking features away from people who are playing a game is another story, though, and I don't think it should ever be done, whether those are features I like or not.
One example.....I'd like to see all the daily *need to complete* hands on career lists nuked from the game.
In GTW you mean ? Because there's nothing mandatory left in the passive careers, they nerfed them at some point. Which is a bit of a shame, some of these objectives were quite fun, like writing a cooking book in the latest levels of the cooking career. I think it was a nice touch.
Um......yes. That's why I said hands on careers.
Since WA is the EP that most people bring up when they talk about lists I'll use that. I really preferred the way they did the quests (think careers) in WA. You actually had to think about what to do next or where to go. There were no pop ups saying....move the statue three times to the left or go down to level five and then go to level 3......
Maybe the CCO thinks we're too impatient or not intelligent enough to figure out what a doctor might do but I guess the lists take the place of in depth game play.
Sorry, I didn't know what "hands on" mean
In the doctor career for example, I find the goals rather open ended, at least past the first levels (I don't remember these ones) : treat a patient, make a diagnosis. So it's not do this 3 times either. The detective is too. I find the scientist the less open-ended actually. Which is rather odd because I've seen people saying the opposite on the forum, but I'm still at the beginning, so perhaps that's why.
