Sort Sims by Last Name

I am just wondering if there is a way (or even a mod) that will sort sims by last name when inviting sims over, or planning an event. Right now mine shows up in no particular order and I'd love to be able to plan events with certain families without having to search through 50 sims.

    It's not by last name but there is a way to sort by relationship type when planning events. When the window of sims comes up, at the top of the list are icons starting with all relationships and ending with pets. The family icon is the 5th icon from the left. I can upload a screenshot if I'm not making any sense.
