[spoilers] Strangerville 2nd playthrough, same save

I requested weirdness from the motherplant and was able to start the story anew. But now I've run into some oddities:

- After opening the mysterious door The Bloom didn't trigger. The aspiration updated alright, but the story notification didn't appear. I opened the door with three different sims now, one of them also braved the spores-filled corridor, but no change.

- The world is still looking normal, all the plants are still in their "onion" state. Also I cannot "nurture" them. My old screenshots show the world being slightly darker in this stage, the plants evolved and some spores flying around.

- Was able to get a new scanner from the military, only it has unlimited uses now.
That resolved itself after exiting the game. The next session the scanner was back to the normal 3 uses in a row.

Is it just me (mods, maybe) or have any of you experienced similar glitches?

The sims I'm using are new, b.t.w. None of them was involved in the first playthrough in any way.

Hi @GalacticGal, you need lots of extra vaccine to throw/spray during the fight and you need to direct your team how to fight. You will get the option to do this once you have started the fight. Also, I would suggest using a team of four (including your active sim). I'm not sure whether it is possible to win with only three sims.

My first fight was with only three sims with no extra vaccine, and beat the mother. It appears that spraying vaccine is the only method of combat, as my sims used those two handed spray guns throughout. An interesting alternative weapon would have been flame throwers.

Thank you, @Oldeseadogge, I still have no clue why I didn't succeed, then, the first several rounds. I did have my O/C throw some extra vaccine at the Mother! But, there is a cool-down cycle. I also learned why the team should "Be Careful" and what that does, "Take a Breather", et al, which I had them do several times. Seems after I learned some of this, that even though I played on hyper speed (wasn't my intention) the next thing I knew they had accomplished the task. It was so frustrating, I had to take breaks, myself. You know, pausing the game to peruse my emails, that sort of thing. LOL
