Starlight Accolades

Won't make a difference in whether or not they come up to accept their award. They might end up sitting on the floor in front of their chairs before and after their speech though.

In mine , the sims in farest possible seat (near window, back wall, in original lot) have had time to go there just fine. Its 7 squares away.

My custom building, farest seat is 9 squares away from stage, haven't noticed anything off there either, but my sims like to sit as front as possible.

You can test and visit with any sim, as gala is happening anyway, if your sims are nominated or not :)

ETA: I do use a mod by Bienchen , "sit at gala " , as in vanilla they used to indeed walk around or sit at floor :D

Good deal. The cramped space in the original Studio PBP made me wonder if it needed to be kept in a small area. I have a crazy idea to modify what I already have and I didn't want to get carried away and then find out I messed it all up by making the room too big.

That's good to know. My new idea will move the seats closer, so unless they wander into this new area I'm going to have at the back they should be good.

Events in The Sims 4 never work like they're supposed to. The Sims 4 should have some kind of thing in place that controls what NPC's do at events, that way they'll actually work like they're supposed to.

The key is to have your Sim click on the microphone and Watch the awards show. They'll sit where they want to, and probably play musical chairs the entire time, which is disrespectful to the host, but a lot more fun to watch than if the entire audience was still and silent the entire time!

Be sure to watch the notifications during the show, too. If you see the notification that your Sim has won, click on the microphone immediately and select "Accept Speech." If they don't accept the award, they won't get the trophy.

I have played through the Starlight Accolade Show at least close to forty times. One of the problems I have run into is that if your Sim doesn't move quickly enough, the Host is likely to return to the mic, blocking the Sim from actually receiving the award. Face/palm. But that's also random. I've seen a Host stand back for what feels like ages, as the clock runs out on the ceremony. (Why I use a mod that lengthens the Show.) Suffer me to say, I have experienced both problems.

One cure is to place a second microphone down and allow your Sim to receive it there. I also have a tendency to keep the curser on the microphone so that if my Sim is called, I can click that puppy right away. So long as your Sim accepts the award, they will come home with it in their family inventory. Use the Pause button, if need be. In the lot I use my Sims have to step onto the platform. Sometimes, if he doesn't get up there fast enough, I'll have him stand on the platform to slip in front of the mic at the earliest available moment.

If you are controlling your Sims you can attempt to have them sit in that first row.

Give it a go, you'll quickly learn what you need to do, design-wise.

Not exactly, but if you want them to go to the 'extra' microphone you just placed, you will have to have them click it again and 'accept award'. Best of luck, I can't wait to read about your experience with the Starlight Accolades.

I'm finished building and decorating the lot. I have a couple of chores to do and then I'm going to test the Accolades. So far in just regular gameplay sims hang out around the bar and the stage on their own. Unfortunately if they wander away from there they tend to leave the lot all together, but those are also sims I have no control over. I took Danielle and Londyn and they stayed right there in the main hall without me having to tell them to. I also want to test the Accolades with the lot type set for lounge and again with it set for restaurant just to see how it responds. Fingers crossed here in about a hour or two I can post pictures of the completed lot and upload it to the gallery.

Looking forward to read about the test where it is in a restaurant. I didn't even think of trying that!

In my game there is a restaurant with a small stage and a mic, sort of small stand up comedian stage. Occasionally sims go up there top use the mic, but it seems like main focus of the lot remains eating. I never saw more than one sim on stage. Hopefully restaurant guests wont flock to the sage in your test either :)
