I disagree here. This isn't a brave trait like in the Sims 3 being sold off for satisfaction. It is a purely positive reward, like the reward traits in 3, that reduces the impact of the fear emotion. It is not complex enough to be a real personality trait. They would have to design it differently, and this is coming from someone that wishes there were proper brave and cowardice traits. (Admittedly made little sense without a fear emotion, but we are getting it now.)
I want more personality and traits just as much as anyone in 4, but plopping traits like no hunger, needs no sleep, grillmaster, etc. into CAS won't do that. Their pure positive and limited nature is what makes them rewards.
However, if the devs are using them as an excuse to not add personality I cannot really speak to. I kind of doubt it for the sole fact that there is only so much you can do with current personalities with how tied they are to emotions. I admit EL flew in the face of that in the slightest, but they used some elements similar to other personality traits and relying on that would make it EP territory; not SP.
