I disagree here. This isn't a brave trait like in the Sims 3 being sold off for satisfaction. It is a purely positive reward, like the reward traits in 3, that reduces the impact of the fear emotion. It is not complex enough to be a real personality trait. They would have to design it differently, and this is coming from someone that wishes there were proper brave and cowardice traits. (Admittedly made little sense without a fear emotion, but we are getting it now.)
I want more personality and traits just as much as anyone in 4, but plopping traits like no hunger, needs no sleep, grillmaster, etc. into CAS won't do that. Their pure positive and limited nature is what makes them rewards.
However, if the devs are using them as an excuse to not add personality I cannot really speak to. I kind of doubt it for the sole fact that there is only so much you can do with current personalities with how tied they are to emotions. I admit EL flew in the face of that in the slightest, but they used some elements similar to other personality traits and relying on that would make it EP territory; not SP.
That's one reason I believe they are slow in adding new CAS traits. I think they realize how the complexity of them gets buried under emotions.
I avoid so many traits just because of the way emotions work.
An emotional overhaul would probably be BIIIIIIIIG. Especially with how far we are into the game. Don't know if that would ever happen. Either way I'm so excited to have fear I don't care right now ?
I really wish the childish trait would get reworked. That's my favorite along with paranoid. (I love how they like to be in the basement)
In the short time I played ts3 my childish sim was so darn childish ?? he was like a big kid and always running to the playground. Everytime I heard infectious laughter somewhere I knew it was him.
Ts4 childish does not even that many unique options with kid stuff besides dollhouse and toys.
