Suggestions for getting her to heed the locked door?

I’m playing two Sims in a duplex. A sort of modified TradeOff challenge. There is a backyard with divided and fully fenced off area/s. Then each unit has it’s front door (of course). This means ...

Pet doors can be set same as sim doors, so you could give the dog his own door and everyone on the lot has their own dedicated door only they can pass through.
