Take a pet for a Walk

Is it fully grown or a puppy?

I'm having the same issue, but with an adult dog. I tell the dog to go potty and it says that it can't and doesn't do anything. With a puppy, you'll probably have to carry it out of the building and then ask it to go. Also, the interaction to walk won't show up because you can't walk puppies.

I believe if you're in an apartment you have to either carry the pup/dog or take it on a walk!

Is the door locked? I kept calling my dog back inside and he kept getting a routing area....forgot I had set a lock on the front door, lol.

My dogs just had puppies 3 of them!! I put the newspaper down however, they are going on the porch and not the newspappers lol

Yeah im pretty sure dogs can use it

I just tried the papers wiht my Sims that live in an apartment. I had my Female sim walk to the papers and call the dog then ask to go potty and it didnt work. :(

anyone know if there is a way i can walk more than one dog at the same time?

yeah :( i read in another thread that it's just a rug. I was so disappointed at that. it seemed like a brilliant idea for apartments with puppies. They need to fix that i think

Yeah. The "newspaper" item is truly a swing and a miss. It's for looks only.

It would have been nice if they gave puppies a doggy litter box. The ones that look like a platform covered with grass.

I don't have any puppies in my game yet but what I do with my adult dog is (Pet Care-Leash) than I click on the sidewalk and choose (Go Here) since my dog is on his leash he automatically follows my sim and once they are outside (Pet Care- Go for a walk, etc). When they are walking there are moments when they stop for a few seconds and I take the opportunity to click on the grass/terrain and don't remember the exact name of the option to choose but starts with "Encourage". Once they return home I click on the dog and make sure he is unleash.

I had this problem but I have figured it out. I think it depends on the breed you have as to whether you can walk the dog and what level of training it has. I found it doesn't matter if you live in an apartment either. When dog ages up, you can walk him.
