Teens are boring

Unless you start the game with a teen, by the time your child ages up you’ll essentially have done the same gameplay over and over already with ages YA+ and children who share many interactions with the older groups.

One of the biggest problems I have with Sims 4 is how everything is relatively uniform (same animations for all ages child+). Makes the lack of content variety super noticable, and it makes the game feel cheaper. It’s why teens are YA’s, and children are like mini-YA’s.

I was looking back on this post and was thinking of some small things they could add that would make a great difference.

- They can have crushes (flirty and dazed when around selected crush) who they want to hang out with and invite over.

- Wants to go steady

- Sneak out (teen sim disappears for short time with random outcome)

- TV channel for teens like MTV

- Teen Magazine - have a magazine that comes in the mail that gives teen Sims whims/emotions for trends. Example, have the magazine pop up a message after it's read that red clothes and alternative music are "what's in" right now, and your teen's whims will want to wear red and listen to alternative. They should feel embarrassed or uncomfortable until they follow the trend. Your sim's charisma skill increases faster when you are following a trend.

They have crushes, they can sneak out, and Teen magazines are all great ideas!

No. Let's just put this in your head right away, teen pregnacy is a controversial topic that kept off-limits and for good reasons.

That would push the teen rating and would make a bad influence to the demography. Positive EA won't reconsider abandoning and switching to an older audience of players.

Relating back to the "teens are boring", I honestly love playing with teens. Yes, having them disappear for half a day to go to school is annoying but I love giving them friends and a gf/bf. With GT, I have created so many cliques and clubs for all of them to have fun doing their own thing. Teens are too similar to young adults but with Parenthood, it just adds that extra homey, family feel to my game. Generally I love playing teens but I love every age group except elders and adults but that's just me.

Yeah, it's kind of hard to "imagine" scenarios of upset when your Sim has the angry moodlet, yet is smiling like an inpatient at a mental health facility

Teens are okay on my end, Parenthood added in some stuff for them like phases which is alright

But I kinda wish teens would stand out a little more

On a slight off topic note I wish they would stop doing that stupid duck face selfie thing when they do nothing

I was thinking of a school day Game Pack for kids and teens and in my opinion add tweens but yes teens should have more to do like I even said with the age/height what if they had like the uni had like Freshmen class and so on for the teens like they have their names and under it what class year their in and have prom and etc.

You're not alone. I tend to have my Sims' lives fairly mapped out, at least in my head. I have a potential singer Sim in the works. Since our child Sims can only learn the piano, the teenage years allow me to focus more on his guitar skills. I should point out that he could use the microphone stand to learn how to sing, so he showed his skills early like many a musical prodigy. But, finding stuff for our teens to do within the confines of the game is a challenge, although it can be done.
