I avoid kleptomaniacs. As soon as I find a Sim with this characteristic I avoid them. With the Island this is hard to do - strangers come in and out of the house (which I like). So - what do kleptoman...

They will do it on their own. You can direct them, but the option won't be there if another sim can witness it. My sim who I mentioned earlier that I had given this trait to, I had sent her to a store to steal something. But the problem was Don Lothario was a store clerk there. Since the guy has an eye for pretty women, he would not stop following my sim around the store. lol
