That was one wild Halloween...
So I’m playing my rotational save, currently on the household with one of my Sims, Jackie, and her niece. It’s fall during their week this rotation.
Fall goes along quite smoothly, with the weather staying mild for the most part (unlike the previous week of thunder, complete with a heat wave and multiple thunderstorms...) So fall seems nice, right?
Nope, not on Halloween (last day of fall). It goes well at first - costumes, decorating, a trick-or-treater showing up later on. The weather wasn’t bad, either - partly cloudy and cold, but it wasn’t freezing or anything.
It was a good Halloween... until Jackie’s sister Rose suddenly froze to death across the street. Thankfully, Jackie was able to convince the Grim Reaper to spare her.
A couple hours later, her sister Heather ALSO froze to death. And the Grim Reaper wouldn’t spare her.
Several family members went to the cemetery for her funeral/burial. Everyone was super sad, with the apparent exception of her parents, who kept making out right in front of their daughter’s grave. And in front of the entire family.
Her dad did eventually start mourning and crying, so her mom just took out her phone to start browsing the internet or whatever. Believe it or not, even though she was by far the most disrespectful at her own daughter’s funeral, she actually has the Family-Oriented trait.
Eventually, I had Jackie and Hope (her niece) return home, since it was getting pretty late.
You know what happens a couple hours after they go to sleep?
The game suddenly freezes. It didn’t become responsive after waiting several minutes, so I gave up and force quit via task manager, then reloaded the game.
It’s now 10:45 AM on Halloween morning. I’m starting to suspect this “holiday” may be a never-ending time warp of chaos.
Or maybe it’ll go normally the second time around, who knows?
EDIT: Halloween #2 went by quite smoothly and surprisingly quick. No one died, and some teenage girl showed up 3 times in different costumes trying to get more candy. She did not get extra candy.
