- OP you have a fair complaint. I think Maxis and others might find it funny or just dismiss this complaint as frivolous. We get the old stand by responses like just remove a tag and they can wear the female tagged hairstyles, and the same thing about clothes, since the gender patch. When anyone complains biological male Sims in the game (considered to be a male by the player) can just wear the female body designed clothes. That is so wrong and dismissive of this complaint. Or snide comments like take it up with the fashion industry.
If this was a complaint about any other type Sim I can bet Maxis would jump right on it. So, yes, it is sexist. And dismissive of the actual problems of too less content for actual male Sims in TS4 and all other games by Maxis. Though I give them credit for creating much more for the male Sims in TS2 and TS1. - Yep a lot of people have complained there isnt enough male clothing, hair, facial/body hair. It is unfair. I usually just download a bunch of male CC and I think I end up making more women so it doesnt become a problem for me, but I can see why it would be a huge problem for someone else. I dont think people should be dismissive about it either.
- Babykittyjade5 years agoRising ObserverFashion is just more popular among girls so they are always the main target. Even when cc shopping there is 20× more girl stuff and I have to scrape the bottom of the barrel for nice boy stuff. But it's not an EA issue it's everywhere. And girls are also the big majority of players for this game.
I do wish it was equal because as a girl who wants boys in my game with plenty if options! Cc has filled the gap after years of collecting here and there ? - wouldn't say that devs do it on purpose but rather "according to the statistics, most of ts4 players are females playing female sims so instead of making content for a kind of sim that isn't so popular, we're going to use the budget somewhere else".. especially cuz both male & female sims can use the same hairstyles & clothes (although these look a bit weird when switched and some clothes should be more unisex)
but i agree male sims could get more items & more variety. also a lot of people complains that toddlers & kids barely get any content, we can apply the same again, "young adult females playing young adult female sims" and the clothing can be reused for teens, adults & elders. Sorry to disagree, It is an EA problem. Because male fashion didn't go down the pipe hole just because some decided males aren't worthy of more clothes and or hairstyles. Maybe they should read more male magazines about men's health and fashions or something. If I wanted to play Amazon women (living on an island) I would buy a game like that where there were no biological males.- JanuaryGarnet085 years agoNew SpectatorProbably because men’s clothes and hair have scarcely changed since the early 20th century. Also because when they tried to give bolder fashion options in packs like Romantic Garden, CityLiving, and Moschino people complain they were ugly and ridiculous. I mean let’s face it. What’s in the basic CAS catalog is what men wear, T-shirts, sport jackets, suits, sweaters, hoodies, jeans, trousers, shorts, and tank/vest tops. Then some outer wear, like parkas, or pea coats, trench coats, denim or leather coats. The shoe range in the catalog is pretty much what I see most guys wear on the daily. Except some of the fancier ones. I don’t see men wearing those everyday but sometimes.
I mean let’s be honest men’s fashion in real life just isn’t that broad or that creative outside of Hollywood. - My theory is that it's because females have more clothing options than men. Dresses, gowns, jumpsuits, tank tops, crop tops, short shorts, maxi skirts...and those are just off the top of my head. Meanwhile, the only clothes that are exclusive to men are suits, and even then, plenty of females wear suits. I made a post a while ago about men not having enough clothing options. Even with CC, there's barely anything. Same with hair; there are only so many ways a man wears his hair (supposedly). Then again, like many other players, I don't make a lot of male Sims. This is probably one of the less popular complaints I see.

I use a lot of the 'female' hair styles on male sims.
Everything here is classed as 'female', except my sim. His name is Adam.
Yeah, they are totally girly boots.Spoilerhttps://64.media.tumblr.com/eac26b38854f9f180b6688491d4e2501/tumblr_ovjyveSwz01v2n804o2_1280.png
Who wore it best? Belladonna, or.... Um... I forget what her husbands name is.
Also, her brother Schwartz has 'female' hair.Spoilerhttps://64.media.tumblr.com/ae17957774b9c9ab6a2ce33eeb3ceafc/tumblr_oi0t29B5xH1v2n804o1_1280.jpg
Humbug Lolly-Goth. His father is Mortimer, is mother is not Bella, though it looks like he has her hair.Spoilerhttps://64.media.tumblr.com/ca67768d8c53221770bb01d36e43a40a/tumblr_ohl0j5JFb21v2n804o1_1280.png
I forget who this guy is... 'female' hair? No. That's manly hair.Spoilerhttps://64.media.tumblr.com/a7f51ffc6f13f5fb7c133c265e7e01c8/tumblr_oclhu9vlYJ1v2n804o1_1280.png - Zmias14 years agoNew SpectatorThe only thing I notice is that there doesn't appear to be enough formal clothes for males and some of the sporty match ups in the pre-styled section is very lacking. Also, not enough PJ or robe selections. In fact, I always end up using the same four or five formal clothes for my male sims along with robes, and that sucks.
