I'm trying to make a best friend for my sim, so of course my sim should know all three of the other sim's traits, but after learning two traits the "get to know" option doesn't show up anymore. Why does this option disappear from the menu after chosen only once or twice? Heck, it's always there when I click on his dog, which he knew entirely within a matter of seconds.Also, my sim has the observant reward trait, so it's strange that he's having issues learning about one sim, but with another, he can learn all three traits immediately after introducing himself without having to even choose the "get to know" interaction. With sims I actually want him to build a close friendship with, he can't get past the first two traits. Same happens with "ask about career". He'll learn all three traits automatically on a random sim, but when I want him to ask about career, it isn't even in the menu, no matter how many times I tried. I've experienced this for a while now with several of my played sims. What's up with this? Is it a bug? These are the only two interactions that tend to disappear from the social menu and it's driving me nuts.

Sometimes, one of the other convo options gives you a trait too, but I can't remember if its the deep conversation or the one about interests.

It's the Deep Conversation, yeah. Chat About Interests or whatever, usually doesn't come up with any traits.

Sometimes when you're in a group conversation with more then one person the "Get to Know" option won't come up at all. It is frustrating how random it can seem to be sometimes. I don't know if switching to the old school Sims 3 convo wheel makes it easier to come up or not.

Get to Know has a cooldown period. It comes back up after about 10 or 15 minutes realtime. I can usually get in two of them before it vanishes.

Well, I have noticed that the 'Get to know' interaction has a cool down period, so I was never able to do it twice in a row.
Regarding the 'Ask about career' interaction, there are only two reasons in my game for it not to show up in the social menu 1. career already known or 2. the sim is a co-worker. So that is certainly odd.

Sometimes you have to go into "more choices" then on "friendly" and then on "more choices" again. This applies to both "get to Know" and "ask about career", and any others that may not be visible on the first click.

It has a cooldown but after I use it I use my trait interaction e.g. enthuse about outdoors, discuss favourite authors etc usually if the sims has a trait that relates to these it will unlock which is nice :smile:

Some simmers are saying that it has a cool down period, which I never thought of. I've noticed "Get to Know" comes up again once I increase the relationship status of the two sims. I noticed I can ask it twice when they're acquaintances, and then again once they're friends. I haven't timed it, so it may be just taking 10 to 15 mins to do so. Has anyone else noticed this?
