The Great Simlish Bake Off!

That's a nice creative idea. I wonder how the NPC sims would react while attending a baking club get together at a park in a snow storm or a thunder storm.

OMG you have just completely inspired me! I personally didn't like the GBBO but I looooove Sugar Rush and Zumbo's Just Desserts.... Always wanted to create a zumbo factory but I think I might build a spin off of your idea. I might try a base game version for other simmers wanting to try out this idea who don't have the packs but idk how to build a park and NOT use those city living string lights. I just love those. I'm also going to have to download your park and play out a baking competition now! It's sooooo pretty!

@simgirl1010 I like re-watching them too. My favourite season is season 3 of the British one, and I think my favourite country is the Canadian one, with judges and hosts from season 1 & 2, and they have such a pretty tent. In my country, they bake in a shed. Sounds ugly, but is decorated beautifully. Does America have a version? All I've ever found is a Xmas special they filmed in England.

I wish there was some kind of real cooking competition in the Sims 4. I remember one of the Sims 2 EPs came with a Judging table. You'd place it on a community lot, cook a dish and place it on the table, then other non-played sims would place a dish on the table too, all 4 sims would stand behind their dish at the table, then a NPC Judge would come, taste, and then announce the winner. I can't remember what they'd win, maybe simoleans? It was a small fun feature, and there were some pretty cute animations of the contestants being all nervous and anxious while they waited for the verdict.

I reckon that idea could really be expanded on for Sims 4. I wouldn't want an entire gamepack or anything, but a fully developed feature in maybe a Hobbies pack would be fun. Maybe it could be an event, a bit like Yoga Class at a spa. An announcement is made with a theme: "A Baking Competition will start in 30 minutes: Theme: Cookies". There could be different themes that randomly come up. Cakes, Just Chocolate, Desserts etc. We have so much food in Sims 4, they could come up with some really fun themes, and then it would all depend on what skills and recipes your sim has unlocked whether they'd win or not.

Ever since the baking skill was added to that Cupcake machine I've wanted a Confectionery skill added too, so sims could make chocolates they could put into gift boxes, and lollies/candy as small treats that never spoil. They could tie that into a cooking competition too. Ahh, dreaming is fun...

If you set Clean as a club requirement, you'll get club points for putting baked goods in the fridge.

A great benefit for any sims who have the FRESH TRAIT is that their baked items will never spoil. So I have a baking club with members that just have this trait.

The finals always have a party for family and friends, so a park works really well for this. While my baking clubs are busy baking, other sims are busy having fun and eating the food they make.

It's also really good for players who rotate. Take a group of family and friends to that park, and all the food your clubs have baked are still there. Free day of eating!

You can still use this idea if you only have base game. Use the cupcake machine and the stoves to bake cakes and cookies, or any kind of food really, put it if the fridge for others to eat. And yes, once you get a playable sim to go to the fridge and eat the food, I've seen other non-played sims autonomously take food from the fridge too.

Even if you've never built before, a tent is so easy to make. Just plonk down a rectangle, use spandrels to remove the walls, decorate how you want, and it makes a great spot for the cupcake machine! Though big and ugly, that thing is actually really good gameplay object. Your sims will have fun using it and if you bake with perfect ingredients you can earn up to $2000 for an excellent high level baking dish when you sell them to the local bakery. I had one sim earn enough for him to build an extension onto his San Myshuno penthouse. :)

I'd love to see your tents and your baking clubs.

What I great Idea! I may start a Grill Masters club. A lot of my sims have that trait.

This is amazing!! Love it!!

It would be fun to do a Sim Baking competition but there isn't much of a way to decipher which sim is the worst baker or best baker of a challenge. For example, if I have them all bake a cake - if they all come out "good", then how to decide who wins that challenge?
