I thought it was just because I've gotten older or because EA has dumbed down the game, but I agree. I get excited about a new game pack or expansion pack so I buy it, only to be done a week later. Either I've finished the challenge, or I just don't care anymore. I was really dissapointed with the last EP because I have been playing this game since 2000. I have purchased every single series, every EP, every GP, and almost every stuff packs along the way. So long story short, I have seen it all before and the thing is, they keep copying ideas from their previous packs but then leaving out important elements that we had before. Like being able to own and manage resorts. being able to attend university, or being able to become a witch. They've done away with overall gameplay, in lieu of these $20.00 stories that you can only play through once or twice. It's just not holding my interest anymore. The other difference might be that I was in my 30's when Sims 1 came out. And I'm now in my early 50's, so the fact they've taken out the more challenging aspects of the game to attract teens who don't want to work that hard, has really negatively impacted gameplay for the hardcore, longtime fans who built this franchise with their hard earned cash. Who here remembers "Death by Flies?" I was just describing that to someone who is 28 and has been playing sims for 10 years... she had never heard of it. The sims has chosen to cater to people without any attention span at all, who don't want any challenges or anything and it's ruined the game for all of us.
