For me there is no connection between in depth or quality and how many sims I can play. I can play 8 sims in Sims 3 easily, because they will all take care of themselves and even make sure they keep occupied one way or the other (and if they set themselves on fire I’m immediately swooped to the scene), which is a necessity in an open world (because you need to control them all incessantly). I actually love that. Complexity can come in different ways.
