I get what you mean. I do get bored of the sims franchise sometimes, maybe because it is never ending and sandbox style. Imagination and creativity is key (espacially in the sims4) in a game like this and its really what you make out of it. Its why some people dont get the appeal of this game and dont understand the fascination on it.
It helps when i just leave the game and the community behind for a couple of months and actually forget about it.
Playing it then again is super fun and exciting and you will remember things that you almost completly forgot.
Its sad that the big innovation is missing, for a franchise like that, but for me i am actually easily pleased and a Sims fanAtic anyway, so just the fact, that i can tell storys and play dollhouse is right up my ally. It does help for me to not always compare the three... I know Maxis said it is some sort of a progress and ''Woaaah look at this new emotion system that we never had in, Sims3 and Sims2 '' ''We removed that feature because it was soooo baad in the Sims3'' and Gurus right up bashing the previous is annoying. I dont take this game too serious anymore, for me the sims4 is just another version, not really in the franchise but just a stand a lone thing. I can let it go easy, when i am bored or frustrated and just play something else.
So i just accepted the sims4 for what is. The core is the core after 5years... for some people it is better, and for some worse. Its sad to see sooo many people gone beeing disapointed. Espacially nowdays. Sims4 got so child friendly its sometimes embarassing to admit my passion for this game and that i still play the game, even though i am not a tween anymore. Saw that Play with life ad trailer? People already associated sims players beeing desperate for playing the sims. Videos like this dont help at all.
