I'm seeing a lot of "stuff" in that game pack trailer, but not a lot of "game". Did they get this and paranormal mixed up? Where's the new gameplay? A career that lets us *gasp* use build/buy mode?
I imagine the career is going to become boring soon.
Yes, I feel that is going to happen as well. - SharoooniaNew SpectatorI hope the preferences/likes&dislikes feature is similar to that of the Sims 3 with colour, music and favourite food options and isn’t just a furniture/decor related thing. I will be really disappointed if it’s just about decor. It’s really the only thing so far that interests me in the pack so for them to fail on that to will be just sad.
- But what if the preference system comes with a base game update and then a furniture/style preference comes with the pack? I'd like to hope so at least
- paigeisin5New SpectatorA pack about interior design yet I don't see a spiral staircase anywhere in the trailer. Hmmm....another build item we've been waiting for and it was left out. And I don't have my hopes pinned to it being in the pre pack update either. What a disappointment. :/
- I wish there were curved walls to go along with the curved sectional.
- SharoooniaNew SpectatorI don’t get excited for items.
- LoanetRising ScoutWe have Curved Decks, upon which can be placed curved fences. I don't see why curved walls can't be come up with.
- In essence this gamepack is about one very common complaint about the game if the player is a builder or is at least downloading stuff from gallery - NPC houses are BORING. So they are trying to make some use of admittedly good build mode to allow play to fix this problem AND to get something out of it. All good and well, except it doesn't do much for players who don't build but DO download from gallery and it raises a very simple question - if you are already a builder then why would spend time building and decoration houses for NPC Sims if you can do so for yourself.

I'm not a builder (as in that's not all I do in the game) but I definitely like to remodel/renovate houses and decorate them how I want.
For me, this pack forces me to actually "play" the game more while also keeping me interested by giving me goals and a budget to stay within. It's different than just freely decorating to decorate. I have a tendency to decorate in the same color pallet and almost always using the same style of furnitue in each house I make over, so if the "client" is asking for a color or decor style I don't normally use, that gets me out of my usual comfort zone to see what creative thing I can come up that still visually appeals to me, as the player, as well as adhering to the client's demands.
There's also a reputation system that comes with it, so of course I will strive to climb the reputation ladder higher.
But, that's just my own personal take on why I love the idea of this pack. - ck213Seasoned Scout

Because I am also a player.
And in my opinion the best builders are players because they test their homes by playing them and working out the bugs and creating Lots that are enjoyable for players who do not build. They build homes to be played, not just look incredible.
And this builder/player is looking forward to having this Prep-school teen sim go to University and acquire the skills beneficial to becoming a top notch Interior Decorator.
She's going to own a retail business, starting small with minor decor, and build it up while offering her Interior decorator services.
-I look forward to visiting my other sims and interacting with them as I build.
-I look forward to the mini decoration challenges for balancing budget, clients needs and tastes, and my own feelings for what is right for the sims. I know there will be moments where I say: "Melonie would not ask for that, it's totally out of character for her." But I can always save the room as is and put it back later.
This pack bridges Live Mode with Build mode and makes it game play.
As a builder/player, I like that.
