The game plays well,
More to the game then what I thought,
Well put together,updated,more useful items,
Things don't like
Very stripped down game thus far,
No weather(EP's not out yet)
No cars or trucks,
Basically have to start from scratch with all the EP's spending hundreds of $$
All in all the game is more then what I expected yet lacks depth thus far.

Things I don't like:

• I feel like I'm spending far too much time chasing negative emotions and trying to get rid of them.
  
• I feel like there needs to be about 10-20% more time in the day. Right now it feels like I spend all of my time sleeping, eating, and working, with not enough time to do fun things or explore the world.
  
• I miss being able to assign beds to people.
  
• I want to see emotions/skills/etc. of people while they are unavailable (at work or school or another map). Maybe grey/white out them like their names are.. but I still want to be able to see the menus when I click them.
  
• There aren't enough useful or fun low level rewards. The one time use potions aren't that useful until the higher stuff is already purchased.
  
• Beating a dead horse: Lack of pools.
  

Things I like:

• I love how emotions modify what I can write/paint/cook/etc and everything else in the world.
  
• Group conversations
  
• Multitasking
  
• Searching for items while building is a godsend
  
• Small steps to work towards my lifelong aspiration instead of one giant goal.
  
• Having to repair items before being able to upgrade. The progression feels a lot nicer than TS3.
  
• Money seems important. I'm broke and feel like I'm having to work to make money and watch what I spend.
  
• No toddlers. I always gave them birthday cakes in TS3 to age them up. This saves me the trouble.
  
• Cooking and Gourmet cooking.
  
• The neighborhoods. I thought it would suck at first but I was wrong. It's working really well for me.
  

I'm having a lot of fun. I can't wait to see what is to come. The biggest issue for me is that I need an NRASS Relativity style mod. This would alleviate the "spending too much time chasing emotions" complaint. If the days lasted a little bit longer I would be so much happier because I'd be able to experience life outside my house. If I had a single sim it wouldn't be such an issue.. but with a family having such crazy different schedules I can't really take family trips or do things with sims simultaneously without missing work the next day or whatever.

Overall.. I'm having a blast. Thank you.

Things I don't like:

-The map is way to small only 26 lots is too small, when the sims 3 had over 100+ lots and only 4 families when you in a new world and not to many community lots.
-No cars, no school bus, no work car.
-No edit town.
- Too many loading screen for every lot I was thinking it would only be for when you are going to neighbourhoods like sims 3 on console.
- No pools.
- Teens being the same size of adults making hard to tell who are teens.
- No terrain tools.

Things I like:

- How towns all work together.
- CAS.
- The gallery.
-Chatting in a group.
-Multitasking.

Thank you first for opening this thread so we can share ideas and opinions!

What I liked : I liked everything! I was worried at first, but as soon as I started playing, I was pleased by this gameplay. It's like everything was simplyfied so we can concentrate on what our sims want. The graphics are lovely, the animations are crazy fun! I never liked building houses like I did in the sims 4! And the gallery is maybe the best thing you created so fare to help players share their créations! The emotion system is very nice, because I felt that my sims were more influenced by what is happening around them and the multitasking is quite surprising! I sincerly think this is going to push the sims somewhere else in the future.

What I didn't like : I'm so happy that it's hard to say. Maybe some so little glitches that it's not worth telling them. I would have liked more lots to build. I hope unplayed sims will be able to find jobs and get babies on their own soon.

Suggestions : I really like the wolrd concept. I hope that the expansion packs that will come will use this. In the sims 3, when there was an expansion pack, you had to change town to get the full experience of the new features. The original town did not adapt to it. For exemple, if you played with Sunset Valley and bought the Island paradise expansion, you had to move your household to the new town so you could played with the islands. Now, I feel that the world system will permit our household to get all from the new features of the expansions pack but while they live in the same neighbourhood! So, that's my suggestion.

Overall thoughts : People who thought this game would be bad are wrong. I personnaly enjoyed it a lot so far! I see the possibilities of the new concept and I'm having a lot of fun! It's sure that I felt destabilized at first with the new build mode, the new camera, the needs and the emotions! It's new and it's fresh! Thank you for making this game so fun!

I was so so excited to get the Sims 4 since I've been playing since the very first Sims came out. I grew up with the Mortimers, the soundtrack is a piece of my childhood. I got the Sims 4 early for my birthday and I watched every trailer and video available multiple times. I have to say all in all I'm a little disappointed. While some features are a great improvement, I feel overall the game has been very stripped down. While I'm still exploring so I may not have figured out everything and the game may have certain features that I just haven't found yet, but I will say the learning process has been more frustrating than fun. I will also add that the pointer device on my laptop isn't working correctly so I've had to poke around my keyboard for simple functions like zoom in and out so that may have something to do with it. With that being said here is a my feedback
Things I've enjoyed:
-Not having to switch between build and buy modes. It makes it simple to quickly throw in a dining room table to see if I need to adjust the size of the room or window placement.
-The build tools. While there are some glitches (building out wall nooks, it doesn't register as the room when placing floor or paint) I have been waiting to move whole rooms for as long as I can remember. I'm looking to building my own house in "real life" and so it's been a fun tool to pick up rooms and move them around to find a good floor plan that I like.
-Height options- Good and Bad- I love that I can select different sizes for my walls however I hate that it limits my door and window choices. I wish all door and windows were adjustable.
-Emotions- While I have played the game for over 10 hours tonight and only the last half hour was played in live mode, I love the role playing aspect of the game which is why I play it. I create very in depth back stories to my characters and the emotions really help me bring them to life.
-Create a Sim functions- One.word.Awesome However I feel like clothing is VERY limited. My only other complaint is that for necklaces and earrings, you have to switch from clothes to the head and then select accessories again. Also when certain clothing items are selected, it limits the accessory options like tights and what not. But the actual push and pull features are beyond words.
MULTITASKING- Hallelujah
Detail- The detail is amazing. Rugs actually have trim and things look very real. The decor is awesome. I actually want to live in my kitchen.

Things that I've disliked-
-No Camera control- You can't change the camera angle other than birds eye view or a very weird top angle. HATE IT!!! The most frustrating part.
-Buy mode- I hate the drop down list for functions. I don't know why they would have rooms listed in grid form and then give a drop down list for features.
-Limited features- I know I'm beating a dead horse here....but no pools. Which means no swimwear. I don't care much about toddlers, however I didn't know there would be no cars or forms of transportation of any kind? Not even bicycles? Granted I haven't left my house yet so I don't know how they travel but I built a garage and then searched aimlessly forever through drop down menus, to find a "model" car and get very excited then get very confused why it was so small. I feel like the game is extremely stripped down, no doubt to make expansions necessary and cost fans a lot of money. I don't feel like they are very loyal to their fans. Give us something without giving us a nose bleed. For real.
-Very limited decor- There are like 4 counter options. I mean really?
-Limited personality traits- I don't like only being able to select (3 or 4, can't remember) They added emotions but stripped down other crucial parts of the human make up.
-Time- it seems to go EXTREMELY fast, or maybe the sims are faster? It makes having more than one family member pretty difficult. I had free will turned on but they kept ignoring my actions to do their own so I turned it off. However actions are completed so fast I can't keep up with three people and their emotions and wants. It leads to playing most of the game in pause lining up actions and then playing for a few seconds only to pause again and do it again.
-Locked features- I can't get an upgraded pots and pans set unless I get my character to level 10 as a painter? Say what???
-Small neighborhoods- Teeny tiny, miniature. You only have 3 lot options and a few houses. It's completely ridiculous. I haven't explored it in live mode but just having to select my house was a huge let down.
-Buttons- While I love being able to play on a less crowded screen, I feel like I'm constantly trying to find everything in individual drop down menus. Took me forever to find out if my Sim was hungry or not.
-No basements
-Limited life time wishes- I wanted my Sim to be athletic but the only aspiration that went with it was being a body builder. Nothing about sports.
-Can't adjust Sim height- With all the push and pull features I really thought you could make them short or tall.
-Walk styles- While I like the idea of being able to select a walk, I feel that most of them are really strange looking. The goofy walk looks like a rabid warewolf.


It's now 11am, and I haven't slept yet because I've been playing this game so obviously it isn't terrible. However I don't know how long it will keep me occupied without expansion packs. I'm sure I'm forgetting a ton more things I had thought about, but this is it for now.

I am loving it! I'm playing it for several hours now and it keeps me busy and entertained with only small breaks to coffee (like now)

About what I love the most so far:

- The huge amount of sims that walk around in the neighborhood! I'm going for a family/home playstyle atm and not visiting the city that much so its wonderful my sims can meet new sims just by going outside

- The group chat and how easy to meet a new sim and he just joins the conversation!

- How sims now properly enjoy the parties and the party goals! in TS3 I always had major issues with sims getting stuck, getting bored, all trying to reach for the food at the same time etc... now they interact, eat, have fun properly! Oh not to mention the staff you can hire for the parties!

- I liked the new realistic things added like pregnancy test, breast feeding and pregnant women being able to do more activities!

- I like the achievements, the super fast 'save game' and above all, how smooth the game runs compared to previous versions!

This is what I love the most so far but do note I didn't explore properly the community lots, the building mode etc yet!

About what I disliked, I didn't really dislike anything horribly, I wasn't expecting it to have all the gameplay items I have at my TS3 because there I have tons of EPS and store content... but if I have to pick one, I would say I would love the city to be a bit bigger. A few more lots without compromising the current awesome performance the game has :)

I was going to suggest that their needs would decay a bit slower but I just noticed I can upgrade that with aspiration points so I guess i'll work on it a bit since they seem to decay a bit faster than I was expecting

Because I like to start with positive first. I have been a sim player for 14 years (as my children love to remind me), I have bought all the Sims games including the Eps, SP and sim store stuff. So far I love this game. I am hoping the positives outweigh the negatives.

What I like: The way the sims have personality again. The way the game its self looks like. The art work is amazing, I love the pixar feel to the game. The multitasking, being able to talk to other sims while reading. Group interactions. How all the towns are connected, The map as a theme park feel to it. For me that makes it feel fun,love the game save.
Things I don't like: So far only one thing, I don't like the load screen for my sim to go next door. I thought as long as they were in their neighborhood that there would not be a load screen.
Not sure about suggestions at this time :) except a small one if there is ever away to not have a load screen in the neighborhood so my sim could go next door that would be amazing lol B)
My over all thoughts: I thought it would feel a little more bare then it is. I really like the feel of the game. While I am not thrilled with the load screen to go next door, I can live with it. I don't mind the load screen to leave to go into the town. I think with new more fresh Eps meaning not the same old Eps this game will be a good edition to the sim franchise. I feel some of the nay sayers should give the game a chance. Not having toddlers, pools or cars is not a huge thing. I am still excited about this game!

Likes:
Emotions! I assumed I'd dislike them from the previews, but they've been a wonderful addition.
Multitasking.
The new intuitiveness of the social pie menu.
Leveling skills feels fun. It's no longer something I fast forward through.
Graphics style.
Great, great sim creation system.
It's a little thing, but I really enjoy the automatic daycare change, and I loved being able to work while pregnant.


Dislikes:
Severely limited job options! No medical, education, science, law enforcement, miliary, etc, careers? What the heck? It almost feels like that was intentionally done in order to set up an "Ambitions" style expansion.
Days do not seem long enough. Taking care of basic needs leaves little time to "play". As soon as my sim got a job, I stopped having time to explore community lots. That's a bit *too* realistic. o:)
Not being able to click through the sim's interface while they're at work is a bummer.
Why is there no skill journal?! *tears*
I want a visible family tree. I didn't realize how much it mattered to me until it was gone. Having this back, alone, would make me fully switch from TS3.
I want a "living world". I want to see sims in the town get married, divorce, move, have children, etc, without my direct involvement. I had a mod for it on TS3, so I suppose I'll just have to wait for one here, but it feels like something that should be a default option.
I'd like some way to change a sim's name without using CAS.
I would like to be able to "save" their wants again.
Lack of toddlers. That was my favorite life stage.
Babies being tied to a piece of furniture. It just feels bad. I do appreciate the new interaction options and how much less annoying they are to keep happy.
I don't mind the lack of an open world, but the towns feel much too small. Specifically the number of homes available.


Overall I think it's a fantastic game and I'm happy with my purchase. However, it is missing so much of what I loved about TS3 (when comparing basegame to basegame). The sims themselves are much improved, but the play experience as a whole leaves me feeling wanting.

Color wheel please.

It seems I can't go into the world without making a Sim, I wish I could just go in there so I can play a premade without having to save someone into a house first.
