What I like:
1) Search ability - one of my favorites!
2) Queuing up of actions.
3) Unexpected comedic touches - Pee like a Champion, for example.
4) The ability to change the color of roofs - thank you!
5) CAS was very easy to learn, & easy to navigate through.
6) The look of the house interiors & the world in general from within a Sim's home.
What I don't like:
1) Having to CAS to enter the game. I am most interested in building houses, & having to go through CAS first really ruined my initial Sims 4 experience.
2) The Notification Board. Please add the ability to turn that off.
3) Not enough world to the worlds - not enough houses, definitely not enough vacant lots, & not enough public lots.
4) CAS thumbnails - especially of noses & faces. I cannot for the life of me find my nose or face shape among either & have been unable to manipulate any option I've tried to my satisfaction.
5) CAS for those of us who must use trackballs due to physical limitations - VERY difficult to finesse anything.
6) CAS giant eyes. Maybe it's because of the trackball, but I am unable to give my Sims what I consider to be normal-sized eyes.
7) Camera controls. Even going back to Sims 3 style, you have to invert camera both horizontal & vertical so it truly acts like Sims 3, & even then it's very hard to adjust viewing angles, & a chore to get to full on overhead view ( which I prefer when in Build/Buy mode ).
8) No curly hair. VERY disappointed that I am again left with no way to create a Sim "me" that has my curly red hair. I love my hair & all its ringlets & would be over the moon with joy if I could have this in game.
9) Constant blue Help pop-ups. Most of them came hours after I had already done what they were "helping" me learn to do. The ability to turn this off would be appreciated.
10) Unlocking of items. This is by far the least favorite game addition for me. There are certain career paths I will never choose for any Sim I play, & I am very annoyed that this makes certain items unavailable to me permanently - especially since I've paid to be denied the option to use them.
Suggestions:
1) A bit more clarity in CAS with skills & goals. I was quite unhappy to find that choosing knowledge led my Sim down a path of desiring to have multiple jobs & reach certain levels in multiple jobs. Thankfully, you did add the ability to change that in game; but what a waste of time having my poor Sim work toward the lower level goals before discovering the higher level goals were NOT in line with what I thought they would be - literally hours of gameplay.
2) Auto-return to speed 1 when a task is completed.
3) Unlock all the items & instead offer other perks ( sustained/lengthened ideal mood, for example ) for career path milestones.
4) Thumbnail colors that match the resulting color when chosen - they are way off in make-up & some home exterior choices.
5) Tweeking of the time it takes to build relationships - it's too long, in my opinion.
6) Lighting needs adjusted - it's very dark, even on brightest setting.
7) Better building guidance. I'm still kind of muddling through & have yet to complete a house - mostly because of camera control - but I still am not comfortable with the new building interface.
Overall, I'm enjoying the game. So much that I've played more than built houses. That in itself gives me great hope for the future of Sims 4. I've loved all previous Sims versions, but have always preferred house-building & this is the first time I haven't.
Thanks for listening.
