I've been a Sims player since the original. I own all the games, expansion, and stuff packs. When I first played the Sims 4 I was extremely disappointed. I wanted to return the game immediately. However, I gave it another chance, and another. So where do I start
The Good
1.Multitasking
2.Loading is faster
3.Many choices of foods to cook from the start, and you can cook them anytime of day. You also can research recipes online.
4. Love all the different cakes the Sim can make
What I am neutral on
1. Emotions
2. Building is simpler
3. No more newspapers
The Bad
1. No family tree
2. The way the town and lots are set up. I miss when the game comes on and you see a sweeping view of the town. I miss seeing all the town contains and it's beauty and majesty.
3. Toddlers, Baby toddler rooms , gear, and furniture
4. Regular Jobs: Medicine, Education, Firefighter, Police Officer, Criminal
5. Visibly distinct stages: Teen, young adult
6. Needs more lots Asap. A restaurant would be nice, a stadium, and a grocery store
7. I don't like proofing off into oblivion going to a load screen and then being in a new place. I want to walk, jog, or drive their
8. Not being able to follow the Sim around as they do things and go places
9. I don't like not being able to see my Sims left behind at home while I am at a different lot. I want control wherever one Sim is
10. Not being able to see how the interactions at work are effecting the Sim
11. No Washer, Dryer
12. Where the heck is the Dishwasher?
13. No color wheel
14. No swimming pools
15. Town progresses and ages as Sim does
16. Where is the school, hospital, municipal center?
17. No weather (Understand that this generally comes as an expansion pack)
18. It took me forever to figure out buy mode was under build mode
19. The new controls did not take in to account people who play on their laptops
20. Skills seem to be gaining really easily
With all this said I understand many things can come later in the form of expansion packs, but this game is real bare minimum. I think expansion packs should be something new and more exciting not the same ones from past generations of games. It needs some type of generations expansion pack asap, and a career type one.
