What I liked:
The way they walk changes based on them...if they are tired and what not. (nice touch)
That you can simply slick on the needs and it will cue them, so you don't have to go search for a toilet to click on.
The way that you have mini milestones for career/aspiration advancement.
I like how quickly it loads
I really do like the push, pull for CAS and build mode.
I LOVE the rooms (Which work like the blueprints from Sims 3)
Love the personalities
The environment is really pretty, and I do like the smaller neighborhoods, as you can only play 1 family at a time anyway, so there is no need to have 100's of lots.
The ability to switch to build/buy modes no matter where you are (commercial/home lots)
REALLY like the multitasking
What I'm not happy about:
Making the game so basic that one has to go buy stuff packs and EP all the darn time. It would be nice to have a game come out with all the best from previous games and build upon it. Something new, not the same stuff. Why can't the sims 4 include weather, pets, and such. I think if it came out with most of the EP Sims 3 had and then with all the new advancements they have made, then people would be more than happy. It feel like just a money sink hole and it personally makes me want to abandon the whole thing and just go back to what I already own. Really, if the EP are just going to be the same things from 2 &3.
When you play a single sim, and they are at work you sit there with nothing to do, even fast forwarding it is very boring. I'm glad the rabbit hole is gone, it was pointless to have the buildings just for show (sims 3) Maybe, they can just go to work and pop back when there is only one Sim you are playing with, but time can have progressed in the game, but not in real time. (Just a thought)
There is nothing pulling you to want to go to a commercial lot, when everything you do there can be done on your home lot. Why go to a bar to drink juice and chat when you can do that at home? Have a party and chat away. A museum is nice, but boring to watch. There are no activities for the sims to do, nothing luring them away from home.
It feels very cookie cutter, no way to customize color schemes. I made a room and the window was bigger than the curtain that had the color I needed. I know, it's small, but the whole reason I play is mostly to build homes and decorate them. ( I play with the sims for a while to see how they like my home)
My sims child was directly across the street from the home lot and I wanted my sim to talk to the child, whom then had to walk all the way down the street to cross and walk back to where the child was. That is annoying. (again, something small)
I LOATH the females eyelashes. They look like clumped black blobs.
As a whole:
I think there is so much potential, but I don't want to spend $30 for stuff packs or $40 for EP that offer me little tid bits and pieces of past games. I feel they should be included in the base game and then have new ideas: "Through the ages" ( start off medieval times and live through the ages creating the future), Storms (with weather in the game, have blizzards and the sims are snowed in, have electrical outtages from heavy rains, and such) There are so many advances to be made, rather than the same old stuff.
Ideas:
There could be little mini games while the sims are at work to pass the time.
Height changes would be nice
The ability to make really cool, unique aliens with the pull/push method. ( EP ???)
People should dance differently based on their personalities.
