Hi, first of, please excuse my poor grammar, I am trying my best.
A) Purchase issues
I wanted to buy the game directly from Origin, I did not want to involve 3rd party re-sellers. Payment with credit card or Paypal was impossible, because it was simply broken. I tried to use 3 different credit cards ( each works EVERYWHERE else ), to no avail. Error messages all the way. Mainly: We cannot verify this card, yet they managed to charge me 1 euro per try ( and I tried about 40 times ). I ended up buying it from elsewhere in the end.
B ) Performance
Year 2014, yet the Sims is 32 bit only. Sigh. I use an laptop, but despite the fact that I can play things like Metro last light on medium, this game runs horribly. The stutter & all, sigh.
I mean, i7-4702, 32 gig ram, geForce 760M should run the game like this bit faster in 1600x900 with low/medium details.
C) So, they introduced new DRM, I am pretty sure that they have poured decent amount of cash to it. And for what ? That once again, me as a paying customer ( and other paying customers ) are the only ones punished by it again ? The game has been cracked shortly after the initial release, so the DRM is simply useless, as usual. Whilst I do not support piracy in most cases, I am starting to get uncertain about my views on it.
D) Lack of items & objects. Whilst I did not expect miracles, it really feels like there is so little amount of items that you can customize your houses with. Also, most of them do not really fit together & it is somewhat challenging to make a room that looks "fitting" , especially because those colorization options & some things, such as kitchen "counters?" do not fit together when you make a corner.
Also, where are things like thief alarm, pools, dish washer, cars & so forth.
I assume that we get milked "later on", with xxxxx expansion packs.
E) Why the forced censor/nudity ? I am not talking about the "pirated" glitch that I learned about when I was googling around. If you guys so concerned about youngsters ( it is because youngsters, right ? ) seeing an naked body, you could also try to think about adults. There are some ways how to do an "are you an adult" check, which can be abused of course, but so what, it is not your responsibility, is it, EA ? The community will find a way how to remove the censor anyway, but why cannot you simply make peoples life a little easier once ? I am not really keen on seeing em all naked, it does not turn me on or whatever, just those pixels are covering like 30-40% of their body in most cases & they look pretty annoying.
F) There are some positive things about the game, but I did not come here to highlight those, I came here to share my opinion about reality.
EA used to be really great company, long long ago, making the best games at those times & probably earning billions & billions, but it seems that as the Piracy, mobile games & lot of other competitions raised, EA started to "under perform" & punish those last few customers that are willing to give them money.
Would it not be simple just to develop games that are simply worth buying ( GTA 5 has made tons of cash, right ?? ) & games where the customers would not have doubts if their cash was spent in a good way ? I doubt that anyone from EA will read this, but hey, if you do, please think about it.
After all, you are a human, member the most intelligent species on Earth, result of processes that probably took billions of years & the chance that you, as a individual are alive are nearly infinitely small. So many things had to go just "right" so you could enjoy it. Make it memorable, make it worthwhile.
PS.: Bug here & there can be tolerated, but something as "major" that SIM cannot find path to an object directly in front of him, or use a toilet ( despite sitting on it & even flushing it ) is funny ( or sad ). Interestingly reload seems to fix it. Also, add an Autosave plx ( maybe I missed it )
