To be honest, I do enjoy the loading screen rather than the open world of Sims 3. The sims 3 is technically an open world but dont you feel the public lots are quite empty and dull almost the time? In the sims 4, whenever you visit, there are tons of sims surrounding, which is great.
For me the bad things are all about the small details. But really why EA have to cut that hard. For example, when sims go to work, they just dissapear and teleport to workplace ??!?!?! I cant understant how hard was it just to have a car to pick u up in the morning and also let the sims open the car door to go inside (just like in sims 2- i love it). One more exciting thing about it is also when you get promoted, you have a more fancy car to pick u up. But they decide to cut off completelyyyy!! The sims 2 is always the best one among the series is just because the small details are being paid alot of attentions.
I know the story progression is a huge miss, but imo it is impossible for them to add them in, this must be the core feature of the base game so I dont think they can add it up via expansions. One more thing I dont think is fixable is the height, so it seems we have to stuck with the fact that teen, adult, elder will look identical throughout the series. sigh.
