Lots of things to like.
1. Objects in the world getting the Sims in certain moods like being Flirty around Red Roses.
2. I like that you pick up level 1 of a skill when you first try it. To me this is more like real life, at least you tried it and so have some interest in it.
3. Getting scrap parts from repairing items.
4. Loads of Sims at venues and out on the streets.
5. Friends drop by to see you.
6. Being able to see who all is in a conversation with your Sim and the fact that other Sims automatically join conversation and you can greet others during.
7. In general the multi-tasking is great. The fact they will pick up a drink and put it with their meal and have both was a thrill for me.
8. The neighborhoods are beautiful and full of objects (even though unusable) that add to the town. Love the paddle boat, trollies, and background buildings and objects.
9. Build mode is very nice although I'm still adjusting to it.
Main thing I am disappointed in and having problems with is the Gallery. I am not able to see but a few items. And there has only been maybe 10 new ones since the first couple days. I mostly only see the ones that Maxis is showcasing. I want to see what everyone is doing. And the Orgin ids and gamertags being differnet is not any help. I see someone with a great avatar and I want to see what they have to offer and a search comes up with nothing. Maybe that was all they did. NOT likely.
And finally as a major decorator and designer I miss the pattern maker like crazy. I want a floral dress that is stylish, Grandma's quilt on the bed, and to be able to color the wood and cloth on furniture and walls separately. Yes that was the focus in TS3 and smarter Sims is the focus of TS4, but gee I am feeling like the designers got left out. I don't like using mods that may mess up the game or won't work with the newest EP release. I seemed to not have issues like others with the pattern maker. Mine always worked great. You just have to limit how many you have to a couple hundred. lol
