Forum Discussion

I have been playing Sims from the outset and I have bought every Sims' game, stuff pack and expansion from Sims 1 onward. My thoughts on this game so far include what all the others have said in this forum. If there's anything that is below and is possible but I haven't found it as yet, please let me know. I realise you have to balance the play-ability for all computers, and there is marked improvement in some areas but is lacking in others.
What I really like:-
* The new range of interactions
* The range of adjustments to personalise your Sims' body, face muscularity etc (Aussie Spelling )
* The ease of building and extending rooms and the roof is a massive improvement
* The range of colours to choose in the side bars and filter are a good idea but see below for improvements here.
* The "childcare" facility for new mums and dads is easier, but in reality, the struggle to balance both is a good challenge. There could be an option for parental leave for a time, or the opportunity to pick up where you left off in a Sims' career only in a set time.
* Love the new ability to do more than one thing at a time. Fabulous improvement!
* Love the ease of transition, saving and loading has greatly improved.
What I'd like to see improved:-
- more lots or the ability to make our own in various sizes as in Sims 3
- Pools and basements, yes that is a must.
- the "down and in" camera angle whilst in build mode.
- Used to be able to turn off gridlines when using the terrain tool whilst in build mode, which made it easier to take nice shots for stories. Can't seem to do that in Sims 4 or haven't found out how. The plumbob too should be removable.
- I think the makeup needs massive makeover, more customised and less heavy, eyelashes need defining, not as a solid block. Also needs a slide tool to vary the opaqueness.
- Nice range of clothes and colours as I said above, but areas of clothing, like belts, cuffs, shoes would be more personal if we could change parts of the clothing, jewellry, shoes, cushions, bed linen etc.
-again as in Sims 3 in the actual game not CAS, the sims change their smooth, contrasting appearance into more grainy and shade which doesn't encourage story writing and I have the setting up to the highest with my new computer.
- the light intensity of the various lights needs far brighter options
- like to see the option to jog "together" with friends or partners.
- would like to be able to walk or run between closely situated houses, leisure or business sites instead of loading the travel screen when just walking next door.
-like the multiple tasks in other things, this would also be good holding a baby. Continuous actions without needing to put the baby back in the crib all the time, that is unrealistic.
Generally my experience has been positive and I'm doing the Legacy Challenge once again. Any more things I find I will add to this list. Thank you for the opportunity to give feedback.
Kind regards,
Jen
