It was Sakura's turn to age up. Alice had always just wanted a small party with Sakura's friends, but Satoshi's family were insistent that the boy needed to have a Family Blessing Ceremony to even be allowed to age up. After some arguing, Alice agreed to the ceremony, but minus the age up.

"I guess we could have had it in a worse place," said Alice as she arrived as Jasmine's apartment, holding Sakura.

Much like the rest of the family, Aunt Jasmine was dressed in the traditional Family Ceremony attire.

At the kitchen table, Sakura's Uncle Ralph and Uncle Satowa were talking. Satowa was the Head of the Family and the one qualified to give blessings.

There was also Gramma Mimiru and Aunt Unagi. There was a joke in the family that Satoshi's father may or may not have been juiced and eating sushi when naming her.

"Good morning, Alice," said Jasmine. "I hope you didn't have to much trouble getting through the traffic."
"It wasn't too bad," said Alice. "The taxi driver seemed to know where he was going."

As Alice and Jasmine chatted on the couch, Sakura went over to speak to Uncle Ralph.
"Oh! Hey lil guy! You came over to say 'hi' to your fav uncle?"
"Ralphie! Ralphie!" Sakura exclaimed.
"Haha! You wanna play, huh?"

Just then, Satowa returned from checking the mail, Alice standing a giving him a glare.
"And so I...Oh...Satowa you're back," said Jasmine.
"Yes," he said sternly. "I wish to speak with our sister-in-law."
Jasmine bit her lip, Alice giving a firm gaze as Jasmine left the couch.

"As head of the family," said Satowa, "I insist that Sakura ages up here! Even if he is not of Satoshi's blood, he is still of our family and it is tradition that after blessing that all of age age up. You are being selfish in not following our family's wishes."

"Listen you!" Alice blurted back. "I am not being selfish. If I were to be selfish, I wouldn't have even honored the Miruchi family's tradition of the Family Blessing! And for your information, it wasn't just me who made this decision but Satoshi himself. He didn't want his family to miss giving the family blessing, but he didn't want to miss his son's age-up. That's why we're having a party at home. So be happy we're even here!"
