The Sims 4: Island Living - Integration with existing packs

Have you given thought on how exciting it is to see how other packs will integrate with the Island Living pack?
What group activities will be added in Get Together? Maybe a group that loves doing water sports? or a mermaid only group?
Being able to build a tropical restaurant on the islands, complete with new outfits and new recipes, with Dine Out?
Will there be tropical storms and will it be hotter with the seasons?

What do you think? Share your thoughts...
Though this is not yet confirmed, I think it would be fun.
  • It looks to me that other packs can easily (ones more than others) be integrated in the new tropical world. But I don't see how the activities from the new pack can be integrated in other worlds. It seems like an expansion a la City living, where festivals and apartments are stuck in that world. But let's see. Later today we will learn more about this and it can surprise us...

    Ooh, I like this thread.

If we can have occult restrictions, and assuming mermaids are a permanent life state (they probably are), I think you're right about that. And for new club activities:

    - Water sports
    - Tanning, maybe?
    - Playing in the sand
    - Cleaning up the beach as part of that conservationist thing?
    - Discovering the island's culture

It would be nice if dogs could join you in the sea, but neither Sims 2 nor 3 did this, so there's no precedent for it.

If mermaids have a hydration need, rain would probably fulfill it.

Plus new ways to get famous, of course. Maybe we can have famous lifeguards or conservationists. Or famous sea divers like Jacques Cousteau? If we get new careers, I guess they'll come with their own fame chance cards

Since cleaning up the beach was a volunteering event in Parenthood, I'm guessing the conservationist thing can also build up empathy in younger sims

Maybe we'll also have new holiday traditions, like there will be new club activities

yeah. aside from the build/buy mode objects and recipes, any other activities from this pack will be really hard to see in other worlds. Like the water sports, since not all worlds with bodies of water are swimmable. or maybe in a free update? *hopeful*

    wow, great ideas.
a tanning group with sunburn as a requirement? haha. that would be tagged as profiling by skin tho.

can occult states become famous? a famous mermaid? or with city living, a singing mermaid?
  • Imagine dolphins or other marine animals as pets tho?
maybe we can teach them tricks? in the leaked images, it seemed as though sims can feed them.
  • I reaaally really really hope they created ocean swimming with other worlds in mind (and found a way to make beaches in Winderberg and Brindleton Bay work. I would start brand new saves just for those beaches to work too.
  • I’m hoping we get enough new recipes to make a tropical centric restaurant. I don’t know which recipes we have already would work, but I’d like more ?

Occult sims can become famous, yes. You can have famous vampires or aliens
