YES! This looks like it will be one of my favourite SPs: Toddlers/Kids Room 2.0 with an added dash of pets!
Just look at that kids room (especially the craft table - adorable!):

And now my toddlers and cats/dogs can match!

I really don't see why people are up in arms about this. I have definitely seen people asking for more outfits and stuff for pets, both in TS4 and the TS3 days. This to me is no different to the cows or chickens that were sold on the TS3 Store, only this is much better value.
Also, please don't make assumptions about me "that I'll buy anything EA chucks out" or that people like me are at fault for your perceived decline in The Sims' quality. I buy what I know I will use and get enjoyment out of, the £10 I pay for this will give me a lot of enjoyment. I was happy to pay £35 for Cats and Dogs because the content merited that price - I didn't think anything was missing. If you bought C&D thinking small pets were missing, that's your lookout.
It's only better value if you have C&D installed. If you don't (assuming that you can use the hamster content without C&D) you're paying for content you can't use.
One of my big beefs with Sims 3 Showtime was the fact that much of the content was "locked" behind the Simport system; you had to participate in Simport (and be successful) to access all the content. (Until our wonderful mod community developed the mods to unlock it.) Similar to the complaints about the "locked" content in Sims 4 (the career rewards) until they gave us the cheat code to unlock all the content. Now, it's not just locked content but completely useless. I hope someone will do a breakdown of the percentage of content that's C&D related and the content that's open to all (the hamster stuff).
