Personally, I use mods. In fact, I disabled NS for a time, but missed reading those notifications. I can't recall how I managed to get them back, but I keep forgetting to reset things the way I'd like them. I've lost two key NPCs, for instance, since this was first instituted. Now, I have to waste more time going back to remove death from the picture. I also removed a mod that I love, except for the epidemic of illness for the first several Sim days! My one Sim has already gotten through Med School, this mod allows for, and is now a General Practioner via Get to Work, so since my Patriarch is now gone, too I no longer really require it. Especially since one of my Rock Star's triplet has been diagnosed with high blood pressure and she just aged up to Child. :open_mouth: (Clicked on his ghostly image in my Rock Star's tree, to learn Joseph died of old age), yeah right. He was still an Adult on Wednesday — I have the pictures! The mod seems to target this family, and in the past he's had a blood pressure problem. I thought I gave him immunity, but maybe I meant to and didn't quite get around to it. He's gone. I called it for what I believed it had to be. Now, my Sim's mother-in-law who died on the same day as her first grandchild's birthday, that was the game. She was into her 44th day of Elderhood. It was time. I do understand the point of this thread. I began Simming with Sims2. There was more than enough drama, and it was much harder to keep a Sim alive! They have grossly softened the game. My skills are way down as a result. IF EA would pander to those of us who have given years to this game, rather than simply targeting out wee ones, I would be a much happier camper.
ETA: Mind you, I keep away from the overtly violent mods out there. I tried one, once and it was too graphic and too much altogether. Killing my Rock Star was NEVER the intention. I quickly uninstalled it, and decided what I wanted was simply more chances of a random accidental death, as in Sims 2. There are mods that can alter the game, simply by supplying a better range of emotions, for instance. Something that can create tension between Sims. I stick to this sort of mod and some of the reality-based ones.
