Agreed. Expect micro transactions and and a monthly subscription fee when you play the Sims 5. They already put in so little content already and charge $40 for it. EA doesn't take the Sims seriously, to them it's merely a "casual" game. The Sims is their cow that they can milk to provide money for their more lucrative, AAA games.
