Yes, and also, if you go way up above your neighborhood in OS, you can actually hear the wind howling (it's eerie) and oftentimes you'll see tumbleweeds roll by.
Did you know that the Future Cube is a fun and useful little diversion for your Sims to play with? Ask it questions and it can instantly put your Sims into a desired mood, like Focused, Inspired, Confident, or Flirty. There's a small chance of backfiring on you though, where it will make your Sim sad or tense. They can carry it around in their pocket, too. It's found under Activities & Skills in the catalog.
