@TOLKIEN Fair enough :) That post is so recent I wasn't aware of it so thank you for linking it. It's good they are keeping Mac users updated. The mention of Windows being looked at is a nice surprise... I'll be even more surprised if they officially go through with it.
Yes turning off memories is super important. I haven't had them turned on in years. :D Turning off the interactive loading screen makes load times faster. Lowering High Detail lots in settings is helpful to avoid rendering every nearby lot. With the use of NRaas: Master Controller you can display CAS presets in compact form that drastically speeds up CAS... Plenty of small tips that together make a really big difference.
I do not not have high hopes for Sims 5 either.
