And the lack of depth is SO disappointing to me that it is just not a fun game to play. I play for the depth, for feeling like I "know" the Sims I create, for being invested in their unique stories and the consequences their actions bring. It really is almost impossible to play like that in TS4.
I've gone back to TS2, and man. It's better. It is actually a life simulation. Characters have depth, actions have consequencs, which ENABLES meaningful storytelling instead of just moving people around randomly and with no effect.
