That's simply not true. If they do their job right from the beginning, it might take a little longer to build a better engine - but the technology to use all the power of modern graphics and processors are out there, they just need the know how to actually build it, and the resources to accomplish it. It shouldn't be a problem for such a big company as EA.
As much as I don't blame the devs - they're doing the best they can - I completely expect more from EA, and I always will. I mean, this game can't properly and efficiently load thumbnails for crying out loud! You could even see it in the latest live stream, where they were like 'oh I don't know why the thumbnails won't load oops'.
So no, it's not that the game concept is 'too hard' to accomplish, it's that it requires more than they give it right now. Personally I wouldn't mind waiting a couple of extra years to get a more advanced game. A game that is optimized. This game doesn't need better computer technology, it needs time to build an engine that can take advantage of it.
Ceterum censeo If people want a better game, they should expect to actually buy a computer that can run that game.
