Also really big tip with infants to make gameplay easier if you have growing together just use the play mat. They can play and sleep on it. That way all your sim needs to do is feed and bathe them. Infants can’t play in their beds/pens which is so annoying
I've seen them grab a toy and play with it if it's sitting on the tile next to playpen too. If you direct them to grab it, they will call to be taken off the playmat, but they seem to be able to grab it on their own so I always leave a toy next to it as well. Another possible time saver would be getting rid of the changing table. They'll just do the spin up into the air to change the diaper and you can just drop and drag it off the floor into the trash. If there is a changing table anywhere on the same floor though, they will always use that even for the toddlers before they have their potty skill leveled up.

And what is the point of the--what ever it is called in english--thing you can build on the infant beds? The hanging thing? if they can't interact with it or even watch/view it? It just a decoration that costs moolah.
The mobile above the crib is so you can play a lullaby to get them to sleep. It's an option when you click on the crib. It plays one song and they generally fall asleep right around when it ends. I usually just put a radio in their room, turn on the lullaby channel when putting them to bed and leave that on throughout the night. They'll get the same buff about being lullabied to sleep that they get from the mobile so it apparently has the same effect.
