I'm just dropping this in here from my post hopefully to contribute to the discussion.
We all know that Sims 4 creates townies. I have notice something for a while now when my game creates townies. I am using a couple of population type mods but I don't think it is related to a mod because I noticed this before I started using the mods. After I play my game for a couple of Sim days I will go and check the unplayed households. I have seen that my game seems to most often create what I am going to call the black single mother household. The household consists of an unmarried black adult female with a black teen daughter and a white male child. That in itself doesn't bother me. What has caught my attention is the fact that 8 times out of ten the game will create this particular household. Sometimes the game will create 4 or 5 townie households just as I have described. They are all basically the same except for the names.
I'm not concerned about the rate of townie generation. My computer can handle it. It's just the weird single black mom household thing. I went back to my one game and there were 8 households all of the same as I described.
I mainly play a game starting with a Y/A single male and try to develop the game from there. A job, maybe a little romance, get married and have a family etc. That leads me to the other thing I have noticed. Rarely does my game create a single Y/A female. Sometimes I have to wind up adding in a single Y/A female to add some interest to the game. For me at least it does take away some of the fun of my guy meeting a female and getting to know each other etc. as I already know the female Sims attributes. A small thing but bugs me nonetheless.
