It doesn't require anything more than just unticking a box in the S4S UI. That should force the game to use only its own purchased content for random hairs. This fixed it for me so that every single sim didn't have nightcrawler's braided hair. Its beautiful but was getting a bit odd having all the men and women in my town sporting it.
I was under the impression that the normal S4S batch fix for CC that disables for random works on hairs aswell.
It does! The Batch Fixes are under the Tools Menu for those just starting out with Sims 4 Studio. You can fix all your broken cc after a patch, too, in one go, heck of a deal.
