Is it extortion/secrets being revealed all player directed, or is there a chance a played sim can get extorted or get their secrets revealed by a NPC?

An NPC may call your Sim and threaten to extort them. If you don't pay up or find another way to silence the extortionist, then that Sim's Scandal will be revealed. (This can be turned off in settings)
