Thinking about it, while I don't think this is a hint for Cars, cars coming with a Farming pack makes a lot of sense. Unlike living in the city or Urban Suburbia (Not a typo - I live there), in rural/farm areas you kinda need some sort of transportation to get your livestock to the county fair, produce to the Co-op, get you to pretty much anywhere that isn't your property (or that of your neighbors). Heck I've seen some farms and ranches where you need a car just to get to it all (unlikely in the Sims unless we actually get 100x100 lots. Not holding my breath for that one.)
Yes, Horses would count too, but they're not as common these days and unless you hitch them up to a wagon or a buggy, they don't have the cargo space either. Also, you get strange looks if you ride your horse to the local store unless you're in horse country or Amish (at least in the areas I've been in... which tends to be both...)
