We've only ever had official bands in S3 which came with Late Night, not Showtime. So if they were so popular in S3, why aren't they already in the game? They would have fit perfectly in CL with the singing skill and the addition of busking. Face it, bands are not asked for constantly like other things are, ocean swimming, cars, free babies, etc. They have only become a vocal want because Get Famous has been announced. If it were some other pack like farming or University, would bands still be requested so much? No, I'm afraid not.

Well, I think University and Witches were popular past themes, and they aren't in the game yet, either. There are probably other popular things that haven't been added simply because they haven't been made yet for us.

Bands may have "fit" in City Living, they may have "fit" in Get Famous, however the team has a limited amount of items they can add in certain GPs/EPs. They cannot add everything that "fits" into certain packs.

I do remember people mentioning bands and other instruments for a long time, although it is true there might be more chatter about it now.

Give it time, they may very well come in the future. I'm sure if and when they add them, they will do a good job with them, too.

I want to add, that I think that they won't be in a University pack, though. Some people have mentioned they would fit in that type of pack, too. I believe (and I could be wrong) that when they make University they will focus on other aspects of the college experience. Adding bands to that pack would take away from other items/skills/careers that the team might want to include in a University Pack.

Danny, lots of Simmers want bands. :smiley: I've seen threads about it before GF was announced. I even see CC creators making fake instruments and poses for it. There are lots Sim music videos that Simmers love making, using bands. Also, just because something wasn't in a previous pack or wasn't done a certain way, doesn't mean it shouldn't be made or done now. I personally always wanted band with lead singers, that wasn't in previous games but does that mean since it wasn't that way before that it shouldn't do it now? I always believe in expanding on things that were in previous games and making it better.

But sadly, it doesn't matter if something is constantly requested or not. Lots of Simmers want Cars and the gurus have stated that they haven't even started on it yet. Graham even tweeted that they aren't adding them in GF or anytime in the near future. :( So sadly something being requested a lot has nothing to do with it being in the game.

If you are creating a major city, it will require having tall buildings with apartments. It does not require bands.

that's one reason yes and agree with you. the other is what ever they decide to add in the future, they wouldn't necessarily add features to a particular pack i seems.
bands items also came in university.
I know bands came in late night, actors/directors to, fame, nightlife venues, apartments, vampires etc etc.
did I say bands came in showtime?
did I say I wanted bands in GF?
I was just having a conversation with another simmer. it was not meant for you.
we are both just sharing a like for bands.
my point to why did they add apartments in city living or your bands in late night is this, they decided to add them in a different pack. I wouldn't assume what will/wont come in a particular theme of a pack anymore if I were you or anybody else of course.
all the sims 4 packs have elements from all the past sims packs.
I assumed we would get singers, we wont it seems.
so regardless of where some features came from (past packs)
chances are will will see more in different sims 4 style packs.
so your right about bands and apartments for those reasons, other reasons are because EA decided to mix up the past features in every pack.

When you think about fame, music is definitely in the top 3. It just obvious.

Singing and instruments are a key factor in making music.

Making music, a lot of the time, involves more than one instrument, which then forms a band.

Why EA decided to leave out an active music career in a EP about fame - is beyond me. Doesn't make sense to me.

I would have to disagree bands are right there with witches, university, cars, romance, hobbies and tropical vacations as top things I see requested.
