twins

when your sims have twins do, you prefer two boys, two girls and one of each
  • I don't have a preference of the gender.
I just like having twins born in my game. I have the twin thing on the house lot.
So far, the only twins I had born in the game were one girl and one boy.
My other multiple birth was with triplets, and they were all boys.
I would only want a preference if one gender outnumbers the other.

I prefer my sims not to have twins. But if they do, and if I expect to be playing at least one of them someday, it's best for me if at least one is a boy. Otherwise I don't really care.
  • Twins so rarely happen in my game anymore that I haven't thought much about them in what seems like forever. I do have a slight preference for two girls since I create and play female sims almost exclusively, but I never do anything to influence outcomes of pregnancies. I let my sims have whatever chance gives them. I love the anticipation, what will it be, girl or boy? How many? When they get to the third trimester I'm like, hurry up, hurry up, I have to know which it's going to be, now.

The majority of twins are Fraternal. These can be the same gender or one of each. Identical twins, on the other hand are ALWAYS the same gender. With Fraternal same gender twins, sometimes they look no different that any other siblings might look. Sometimes, we get fooled because they might look so much alike we think they're identical when they're not. Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen come to mind. I was gobsmacked to learn they aren't identical.

As for what I prefer, I love identical twins. Knew a set of Mirror Twins when I was growing up. What's that you say? One was left=handed while the other was right-handed. They both had the same eye problem, but opposite eyes which required a patch. They had to wear name tags at school, too. I was fascinated by them.

I prefer a boy and girl.
These were my boy/girl twins during my 100 baby challenge ;)

That way my Sim does not have to have more children, since she has her pigeon pair <3
except for playing the 100 baby challenge lol :D
  • It depends if they already have kids already, but I think I favor twin girls more because there are more outfits and hairstyles in CAS for girls to dress them as matching twin toddlers/kids. I am still waiting to see triplets in my game though, it has never happened yet.

If your pregnant Sim eats raw strawberries she will more likely have girls. If she eats raw carrots she will more likely have boys.
  • Most of the time when I have twins in-game, I’ve used MCCC to adjust the pregnancy for storytelling reasons, which includes the gender too.
There was one time, a while ago, when I had the On a Ley Line lot trait and the couple who lived there had three sets of twins. This was before I used MCCC (or any mods). The first set of twins were girls, the second set were boys, and the third was one boy and one girl!

  • Siblings are crazy enough. Twins? Yikes! :p
