University - Choosing Your Next Enrollment and other bugs
Hello! First off, super-excited about University from the start. It was my fav Sims2 pack and so i bought it right away when it came it. Love it, bugs and all (can't wait until EA squashes them though!)
I added a bunch of Sims to a dorm to learn the ropes. I was super-confused at first about where they were supposed to get food, what to do with presentations when completed, but with time and some web searching I figured a lot of stuff out. One similar bug I had at multiple locations was one of my Sims would stop sleeping. I couldn't even get them to nap. They would lay down then immediately stand back up . The only way I kept them alive was by traveling all household members except that one Sim to another location and then they would self-care and get sleep.
As I tried out all my different households, they would have already finished a semester and they would ask me to sign up for another one. I have progression turned off when I'm not playing a household so that was weird. Also I'd find out some of the Sims were on academic probation and I'd have to manually sign them up (button that says to sign up in career area) for the next semester.
I had a big one last night which ended in unfortunate disaster for a Sim. One thing I don't like about enrollment is you cannot see your Sims aspirations/traits, only a face photo. Now, I had just added a bunch of Sims to a lot so I couldn't 100% remember what career I was having them go for or what electives they might like to take. There's no way to find out either because the box that pops-up stops everything. It does keep them on the same degree path which is helpful but I'd want to see all the Sim info. So in this one instance, after finishing a semester, that box pops up and I decide to X out of it to check which of my Sims it's talking about with the intention of signing them up manually for the next semester like I did for the academic probation Sims. It immediately said they had to move out and started a timer. I went into each Sim and signed them up for the next semester, and it stopped the timer, however the game was glitched. It now always thought they were in the process of moving out of University. I couldn't travel them anywhere, I couldn't throw a party, and I couldn't even save the game. I decided to play it out to graduation to get them out of there. Going to class, taking skills classes, visiting office hours, and listen to lecture all worked fine so with some speed and fill household need cheats I got them to graduation as quick as possible. The graduation box popped up and I said yes lets do it. Only one of my Sims showed up and the icons of him being deathly hungry, bathroom, hygiene, etc all popped up, even though his bars were full and green, and he died. After the Grim Reaper took him it went back to the house and it basically told me to move the rest out. Well that didn't work!
