Hey @mcrudd , always happy to have people getting involved in the story and rooting for one character or another :)
I feel like Mayumi and Kevin are both people with strong fixed ideas about how they want life to be, and they haven't necessarily learned yet how to communicate and compromise. Kevin is an Overachiever who's got a strong career goal. Mayumi is a Loner and Socially Awkward. She's charming, but she is tone-deaf sometimes. Plus, she really does need her alone space and time, while Kevin needs to socialize.
Don't forget, Kevin planned and worked hard for that one house and built up a plan to invite Mayumi to live there with him, but he never asked Mayumi how she felt about this plan or if she had any plans of her own, until he was just about to buy the place for the two of them.
I think this moment is a wake-up call for them both.
