unlucky chef scenario

how are you supposed to do this scenario? every time i go to start it they start me with no money and they wont let me move in with other sims iam unable to actually play it since with no money i cant even afford to move into an empty lot

ETA: Just tried the scenario and my sim started with $20,000.

Maybe try repairing your game?

I also had no issue when I tested this scenario. Beyond trying a game repair as simgirl suggested, run the game without mods. A broken mod (even if it's not related to scenarios) could be the issue.
